Fiedele RUTAYISIRE,the RWAMREC Chairman

Fidele Rutayisire is the National Director of the Community Based Sociotherapy Consortium,president of the Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre and president of the Rwanda Youth Healing Center. A lawyer by education, Fidele is a passionate Rwanda human rights activist. In 2006, he co-founded the Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC) to mobilize Rwandan men to support women’s leadership and to address issues of negative masculinity, gender inequality, and promotion of healthy families, women’s rights, and prevention of gender-based violence. In 2004, he joined Kigali Health Institute, where he served as the senior adviser to the Vice Chancellor.Previously, Fidele worked as a Program Manager at USAID-HICD, legal adviser to the Rwanda Ministry of Health and as a program officer at Association Rwandaise pour la defense des Droits de l`Homme, ARDHO (a Rwanda human rights organization).
Fidele is currently a board member of BENIMPUWE, ARDHO, and the MenEngage Africa Network. He has also been a board member of Pro-Femmes TweseHamwe, an umbrella of 60 women’s rights organizations in Rwanda and of the East African civil society forum (EACSOF).
His accomplishments include initiating an international petition and rally against sexual and gender-based violence in Kenya during the country’s post-election violence in early 2008, as well as being named the winner of the GBV Prevention Network’s “What’s Your Way” competition on preventing violence against women in 2011. Fidele holds a Master’s degree in Gender and Development and a post-graduate degree in Peace-Building.

Venant Nzabonimana was born on 01 January 1962. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the National University of Rwanda (1987) and training certificates in various development and social areas. He is married and father to for children. He worked with the Government ( 5 years), local NGOs (1993-1994) International NGOs (1996—2013) and CBOs(1988-2013). He has strong experience in consultancy work with CBOs, local and International NGOs.

Venant Nzabonimana has sound experience in following areas: Organizational development, gender analysis and gender mainstreaming, policy and advocacy, Program management/Program planning, monitoring and evaluation (PM&E). He has skills in secure livelihoods, value chain development, Reproductive health and HIV. He is used to Windows: Word and Excel, outlook, power point. He has a driving licence B. Venant Nzabonimana is fluent in written and spoken Kinyarwanda, French, English and intermediate Kiswahili.
