From September 18th 2019, RWAMREC is conducting a training on gender and positive masculinity for students in 11 schools of Karongi district in Western province of Rwanda. The training seeks to build young people’s knowledge and awareness around issues of gender, inequality, vulnerability, sexual and reproductive health and right to reduce GBV and create safer spaces for girls in and around the schools.
The 60 trained students are supported by RWAMREC trained teachers (5 per school) and head teachers, and they will cascade the training to their peers who do not directly have access to the programme.
At the end of the training, 660 students will be reached in the following schools:
Authentic International Academy School
College Sainte Marie –Kibuye
College Amahoro –Kiziba refugees camp
Prevention+ is a multi-country (Rwanda, Uganda, Indonesia, parts of the MENA region etc...) and multi-level programme, implemented by RWAMREC in Rwanda whose main goal is to contribute to creating gender justice and preventing gender-based violence.
