VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC) is a non-governmental Organization whose aim is to address issues of negative masculinity, gender inequality by engaging men to play a significant role and as partners with women in preventing GBV and promoting gender equality and healthierfamilies. To date, RWAMREC operates in 21 Districts. The implementation is effected through community mobilization campaigns, capacity building to mainstream and implement the Men Engage approach in existing programs and advocacy for policy formulation and change to reflect male engagement approaches.
To fill-up its organization structure, RWAMREC would like to recruit2 field officers under its Prevention+ project operating in Karongi District and 3 staff for its upcoming project ‘’Improve Women Economic Empowerment by promoting redistribution of un paid care work and increasing women’s decision-making power(WOW).

A. THE WOW PROJECT COORDINATOR

The WOW project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and coordination of the project activities under direct supervision of the executive director of RWAMREC. The Project Coordinator will also ensure the delivery of all project outputs and outcomes as described in the project document in collaboration with other staff members of RWAMREC.

Overall Responsibility:

To coordinate and implement the WOW project activities, to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project work plans.
Key tasks

  • Insure the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the WOW Project
  • Take a lead in development of the WOW action plans in relation to planned activities.
  • Organize various trainings planned in the project
  • Produce periodical weekly, monthly and quarterly action plans, reports and submit them to the Executive Director,
  • Produce relevant reports and submit them to the Executive Director,
  • Ensure follow up of the indicators contained in the M&E of work plans,
  • Ensure data collection and processing as well as their accuracy and their reliability
  • Promote good working relationships and networking with stakeholders
  • Perform any other duties as may be required by the supervisor in the areas of the project management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Only former RWAMREC employeeson the position of project coordinators. Having worked with Bandebereho Project is an added value,
  • A master’s Degree in Gender and Development or project management,
  • Relevant experienceof 5 years of experience inprojects management,
  • Experience in working with Government local administration,
  • Fluent in English, French and Kinyarwanda.

B. Field coordinator: 1

Under the direct supervision of the WOW project Coordinator, the WOW field coordinator shall have the following roles and responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate all activities of WOW project in Musanze district
  2. Coordinating meetings with Musanze district officials, hospitals and health centers,
  3. Identify community health workers as trainees and group participants
  4. Participate in adaptation and utilization of training modules where needed
  5. Take the lead in organizing, implementing and supervising trainings of community health workers in Musanze district
  6. Conduct monitoring oftrainings of community health workers and Bandebereho groups and provide regular feedback to RWAMREC,
  7. Participate in the project evaluation when needed
  8. Produce weekly, monthly/quarterly reports, work plans on the project as requested
  9. Writing stories of change from the field

Required Qualifications

  • Only former RWAMREC field coordinators or field officers of Bandebereho,
  • At least a bachelor degree in social sciences, public health or gender studies
  • At least 5 years of work experience in training on gender
  • Experience in writing stories of change
  • Experience in developing learning materials and delivering trainings
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with demonstrated ability to produce good reports in English
  • Excellent written and spoken Kinyarwanda, French and English
  • Ability to effectively use a computer to access information and prepare reports
  • Hardworking with capacity to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Honesty, integrity, openness and respect
  • Excellent team member
  • Persuasive and able to work with different cultural settings, culturally sensitive
  • Result oriented
  • To possess a license for driving a motorbike
  • Duty station: 90% in Musanze district and 10% at Headquarter in Kigali

C. Field officer: 1

Under the direct supervision of the WOW Musanze district field coordinator and WOW project Coordinator at RWAMREC, the WOW field officer shall have the following roles and responsibilities:

  1. Participate in planning, coordination and implementation of WOW work in Musanze and elsewhere the project may operate from in the future
  2. Participate in conducting situational analysis in collaboration with the existing stakeholders to determinate the needs of various participants, partners and stakeholders
  3. Participate in identifying community health workers as trainees and group participants
  4. Participate in adaptation and utilization of training modules where needed
  5. Take the lead in organizing, implementing and supervising trainings
  6. Conduct monitoring oftrainings of community health workersandBandebereho groups and provide regular feedback to RWAMREC,
  7. Participate in the project evaluation when needed
  8. Produce weekly, monthly/quarterly reports, work plans on the project as requested
  9. Liaise and coordinate with district authorities to ensure project interventions are aligned with district priorities
  10. Writing stories of change from the field

Required Qualifications

  • Only former RWAMREC field officerswith Bandebereho,
  • At least a bachelor degree in social sciences, public health or gender studies
  • At least 4 years of work experience in training on gender
  • Experience in writing stories of change
  • Experience in developing learning materials and delivering trainings
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people in communities
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with demonstrated ability to produce good reports in English
  • Excellent written and spoken Kinyarwanda and English
  • Ability to effectively use a computer to access information and prepare reports
  • Hardworking with capacity to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Honesty, integrity, openness and respect
  • Excellent team member
  • Persuasive and able to work with different cultural settings, culturally sensitive
  • Result oriented
